  • Ayran is a popular drink served to accompany meals that has a savoury flavour. Ayran is made from a traditional yoghurt recipe that is combined with salt and water to make a drink with a palatable consistency. Ayran was originally created as a way to preserve yoghurt drink.
  • Other Turkish Yoghurt Drinks have similar ingredients to ayran but with different flavours. One recipe uses cucumber juice in place of water to produce a different flavour. Other recipes include garlic in place of cucumber juice or water to make a unique flavour.
